I’m a drinker. I love making classic cocktails, especially tiki cocktails. I make all my own syrups, I use the best ingredients, but I also like a good ol’ Bacardi gold and coke. I try to limit my drinking to the weekends, but sometimes I make dinner, and how does one make dinner without drinking wine, or margaritas (depending on what’s for dinner)? So needless to say when I went to the doctor she was not happy with my bloodwork.My liver enzymes were elevated so she sent me in for an ultrasound. The ultrasound didn’t show anything (phew), but still, elevated liver enzymes are no good. A couple nights later I was home and saw some milk thistle drops in the fridge. I asked my kids about it and they said the vet prescribed it to one of our ducks bc she was having liver issues. I thought well if it works for ducks, it probably will work for me. I did research of course, and found these. I’ve been taking them for a couple months, almost nightly, and when I went for blood work recently, my liver enzymes were perfect! Which is amazing bc I’ve been drinking more than ever, almost every day for a month and a half. I’ve been out of work with sciatic nerve pain, and have daily pity parties, and what’s better at a party than some g and t’s?I’m not saying anyone should be drinking this much, it’s bad for you, while my liver enzymes were normal, everything else was up, but this milk thistle seemed to help my liver. And how much easier could it be? These are easy to swallow, they’re no bigger than most of the supplements I take, they have no gross taste or smell.I would never tell anyone to take a supplement without doing their own research, but these seem to be keeping my liver healthy, I would recommend and I will keep taking these. I won't compete with the lovely review in verse, but my sentiments are similar.I've taken milk thistle for many many years on account of certain Rx's known to wear on the liver. On some weird yen, I decided to see how things went without the milk thistle for a few months. Bloodwork showed concerningly elevated bilirubin! I recommenced taking this milk thistle and the liver enzymes returned to normal. Enough said. It works.
