Q: What is the difference between lamb and rice original and lamb and rice "updated formula"?

Our Original Lamb Meal & Rice Recipe was recently renamed and reformulated and is now our Original Lamb & Rice Recipe! As always, our recipe does not contain Corn, Wheat or Poultry By-Product Meal. However, it now contains protein rich Lamb as the #1 ingredient for strong muscles and Whole Grains for healthy digestion! As well as new ingredients like Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Canola Meal and Taurine! We have also removed Tomato Pomace and Brewers Yeast. Updates were also made to the vitamins and minerals added to keep your pup happy and healthy. Since this is a new recipe, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to the new product over a 5-7 day period. We hope this helps!

Q: Can anyone tell me how many cups are in a pound of this food

I really do not know but I feed two large pups and the 25 lbs works for them for about two months. They really love it so I stick to what they like

Q: Will this help overweight dogs loose weight?

I was able to drop my dogs weight using this food but cutting his serving down by half a cup. Both my dogs do really well with this food.

Q: Lamb states no poultry but poultry is listed as second ingredient??!!

Lamb states "NO POULTRY BY-PRODUCTS..." Those are yummy things like "hatchery by-products" (15% of eggs don't hatch), egg shells, "inedible liquid egg" (eggs that can't be sold for one reason or another), and various other things that don't find a human market. The second item on the ingredient list is "chicken meal", which is parts of the chicken that have been rendered, dried, and ground up, including chicken meat, flesh, skin, and bone. Chicken meal does not contain feathers, heads, feet, or intestinal contents. If it said "chicken", then it would be exclusively chicken meat and skin. I feed my dog the Chicken and Rice version, which lists "chicken" and "chicken meal" as the first two ingredients. I'm not worried.
