Great lil boat... Definitely need to specify/advertise that this will not work unless it's on the water... You're gonna have a lot of returns due to this... I didn't figure this out until after I received the replacement, and I only figured it out due to reading other people's reviews

I bought this product to mess around with the kids at the lake. Right out of the box it was missing the charging cable so I couldn't even tell if it would work or not. I figured someone at the factory just forgot to to put it in and Amazon was quick to send out a replacement. At this point I'm a little annoyed but, whatever, stuff happens. I did get a new one and it appeared to have the charging cable and a few extra parts (propellers) so I figured I was good to go. Here's where I screwed up.... I should have tested it immediately. I didn't. I figured I'd try it out when I got up to camp which wasn't for several weeks. Well, we got up to camp several weeks later and then several more passed before I tried it. I charged the little battery and then tried to get it to work before I even put it in the water. Nothing! I had a solid charge in the alligator and new batteries in the controller (the light was on) but nothing would happen when I tried to get it to work. Extremely disappointed in this product! Yes, I'm also disappointed in myself for letting the return window lapse before trying it.Edit: Although I give this alligator head a one-star review, (I got two bad ones) I'll give the seller five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. After reading my review they promptly reached out and offered a refund or replacement even though it was technically past the return date. I guess I would say that if you're considering this product you could give it a shot. You can take comfort in knowing that the seller has your back if you happen to get a bad one.

It is solid built. The alligator head is hard and heavy plastic, nothing flimsy. Very easy to control as it has two motors and two propellers. Each stick on the remote controls one of them. So you can even make sharp turns by moving one forward and the other backward. I love that it came with 2 batteries and spare propellers. I don't know if it was luck or it has a sensor but my device paired with the remote after I put it in the water. So if you have problem pairing just try it in a bathtub or something.

The product I received did not work correctly. The remote signal would not reach more than 12-15 feet before it quit working. The seller was prompt on refunding my payment.

got this for my 7 yr old for bday gift along with an actual remote controlled speed boat.first, this thing is kinda cool. We got it to scare guests that are floating in the lake. I think it will do well for that!for a toy tho, it's really slow in the water and not really "controllable" as it only has two props and no rudder. it should be slow, of course and it's quiet. I'm just saying this is more of an adult gag-type of toy than something your kid is going to want to spend hours playing with.Aside: we got a really nice $40 remote controlled speed boat and they love that. i was wondering if this gator thing would kill two birds with one stone: boat + gator, but really this thing is pretty slow in the water (which again, is it's point, but slow and boring for kids). It's also really hard to separate the boat from the gator. You basically just pry the boat from the attached gator head and hope the plastic doesn't snap!

I have to say, I really love this toy! I gave it to my nephew, who loves anything alligator, and WOW was it fun!! We have a little mini lake near my house. It is more like a city filled lake and pretty small. They drain it every winter and fill every summer lol. It is still filled at the moment, so we went there. This remote control alligator is super cool! My nephew and I had a wonderful time playing with it! We even caught the eyes of the other neighbor kids and soon we had a whole alligator party happening, haha. He had so much fun with his new toy and new friends! I definitely recommend this toy! You will be loved for it! It is well made, comes in a nicely packaged box and would make a great gift!
