It's a direct replacement. No special tool needed for Installation
I purchased this dryer heating element ove 6 months ago, and its still working loke a champ, I'm satisfied with the quality. The original heating element had failed, leaving my dryer useless. You get approx 1 year out of this
Reason for 3 star price is good and my 3rd one. I get approx 1yr out of but much cheaper then new dryer and easy to change out. Just wish they last longer never leave review on anything till you used for a while.

Lasted 6 months when OEM last many years.
Element burnt in half in 2 places. Appears element touched to another part of the element which created a hot spot and cause both sections to burn in half. The oem elements do NOT sag 1/8 as much during heating/cooling cycles and this leads to the element touching itself and burning in half. There is a reason why the OEM elements last many years. These aftermarket elements appear to be using an inferior element vs and OEM one. My aftermarket element lasted 6 months before it burnt in half in 2 places. The OEM one lasted about 8yrs IIRC.
