Should Have Stayed With Them
Pearce grips have always been top shelf. I went with a cheap replacement that gave two of these for half the cost but they were complete garbage. Do yourself a favor and stay with Pearce Grips.

Get a better grip on your 1911
This is a thin rubber under grip for 1911's with finger grooves. You put this under your original grip panels and it provides a rubber grip for your fingers at the front of the grip. It strengthens your grip for better shooting.

They're great! They just don't fit my hands.
They work great, and installation was super easy. It doesn't add much to the thickness either. I tested it on both thin and full size grips and I honestly couldn't notice any difference. Unfortunately my hand runs higher up on the handle, so it just doesn't fit my natural grip.

Excellent Fit
Easy to install, just had to trim it a tiny bit in three spots for a perfect fit. No problem. I like being able to use the beautiful walnut grips that came with my 1911a1.

Better than the rest
These are some good solid finger glooved grips unlike others whose grooves have to much give when gripped. The only gripe is that I had to cut away excess rubber from underneath the original grips after I installed the finger grooves.

A little trim here and there and you are good to go.
These add ever so little to the width of the 1911 frame. So little as to make virtually no difference. The difference in feel and confidence is substantial. Two spots where I found trimming necessary: 1. At the very bottom edge where the mag floor plate (Act, Mec-Gar and others with wide, removable floor plates) bumps into it. Most mags will still lock with the expected click, bit a few need some extra effort to compress that bit of rubber edge. The potential problem then is that it takes twice the effort to release the mags - full or empty. 2. Around the right side of the mag release. It overlapped the grips just enough that the mag release was stretching the rubber out away from the frame. Both are easily remedied. Remove and lay the grip flat on a, well, cutting board, if that's what you have. Any wood surface is great. Lay a straight edge (metal ruler, machinsts rule or the blade from a combination square) exactly where the cut needs to be made and hold the straight edge firmly in place. Use the sharpest knife you have (X-acto is great), carefully draw it across the rubber using just enough pressure to cut. Make a clean, single pass if possible. As to the mag release half-moon, if that interferes with the mag release, you can try to enlarge the cutout slightly using the largest punch of a leather punch, or again with the X-acto, being very careful. Take your time and think about what you are doing, as you need do it only once. With the above done if needed, what you have is a far better grip in the weapon. When drawing, your hand naturally is guided into a essentially perfect weld with the grips/stocks. The gun feels different - better - and a few draws and some life fire will reveal what an improvement this grip is. For less than $10, if you like finger grooves, this is as good as it gets.
