Great plates with great features for the price
Great plates for the price. Very durable and the rubber coating is solid. I’ve had these plates ever since I built out my home gym during early COVID. The plates have held up great for almost 5 years with no signs of wear and no rust on the inner metal sleeve.I recently bought another pair of 45s and they have the exact same look and feel as the plates from years ago. Quality control is top notch. As others have said, they DO arrive with a thin layer of grease that you have to wipe off. I recommend Clorox or alcohol wipes to cut the grease and remove the odor. It’ll dissipate in a few days.I really like the grip handles on these plates. They make moving them around a one-handed task and you can do different exercises outside of a weight rack.My only complaint is in shipping. The cardboard box for the 45 lb plates is way too thin and can get damaged, causing issues with the carrier if the label goes missing. This happened to me on one plate, but the seller is great and immediately shipped a replacement. Not worth dropping a star since the response was so prompt and the product is so good.

Great weights, not complaints
I live in a high humidity state and am grateful that the rubberized coating of these has not seemed to undergo any of the mold or oxidation changes that others have. The rust resistance seems good and the ease of the grip is great. Very pleased after years of routine (OK, intermittent) use.

High Quality Plates
I love these plates! After having kids I was looking to expand my home gym without breaking the bank. I found these plates to be a great option. Are they cheap? No, but they're not overly expensive as some other brands are. Are the "cheap" in the sense of quality? Absolutely not. Going into this purchase that was probably my biggest concern; I'd spend a decent amount of money on a subpar product. Boy was pleasantly surprised! What I like:1. Solid construction. The outter rubber coating seems very durable and the inner ring is metal, which slides easily onto my 7' olympic bar and my EZ curl bar.2. The grips/handles. Man, I LOVE this feature! It really makes loading, unloading, moving, and even training options SO much easier.3. The size. These plates are not overly tall or thick for their respective weight. The smaller plates may be slightly thicker than your traditional cast iron plates, but by no means are they "bulky". I would even say that the 35's and 45's are thinner than their cast iron counterparts because they are more even throughout and do not have that thick raised rim of cast plates.4. They arrived quickly, nicely boxed, and wrapped in plastic. Definitely had that exciting brand new equipment vibe. What I didn't like:1. They came with an oily texture all over them. I'd have to assume this is so they don't stick or bond to one another during shipping (because they're boxed in pairs). All of the plates were really oily and the smallest hairs and fibers were sticking to them. This also made them very slippery in my hand. This was more problematic because I have a cat that likes to lay on my bench and lat pulldown seat, so cast hair is in my workout area. I will say that after wiping them all off with Clorox wipes and paper towels they were fine.Overall, I love these plates! In fact, as I added more equipment to my home gym I needed more plates, so I bought two more 35's and had the same exact experience.

Great Weight plates...But want to know how to clean them? Here is one way...
The plates are awesome but I see why people complained about them being greasy. Any way...The grease is less of a concern for me on the plates as they are easy to clean. The smell is less of concern also. They have the smell of a new vehicle. It's not bad at all.One of the best ways to clean the weights is by using a rag to clean the grease off with dish soap and water. Then you would use a 50/50 alcohol and water solution to wipe off any remaining grease. Rinse with water and repeat if necessary. I would do that with the larger weights such as the 45's,35's, and 25's. The smaller weights are easier to clean and saves time. The 10's, 5's, and 2.5's you can soak those in a good soap solution in a bucket they will fit in room temp water. Clean the smaller weights with dish soap water with a rag as if you are washing dishes. Don't be afraid to lather them up ladies and gentlemen lol. Then you would use the 50/50 water-alcohol mix to do extra cleaning if necessary. Then rinse with water, dry, and you are good to go. To be extra...using alcohol alone after cleaning would really make these weights grease-free.

High quality, comparable to commercial gym equipment, bad smell that slowly goes away
Absolutely love these. I balked at the price, but I knew I wanted rubber coated weights after using them at the commercial gym for years and years. I just couldn't stomach going backwards to metal weights, it would make me feel as if I was working out in my garage when I was in high school. Anyway these came well packaged, although I'm sure the delivery person was not pleased with the weight. I had to open the boxes on my front door and carry the weights individually to my home gym. They are high quality and I've used them heavily for the past few months, no issues at all. The rubber is a bit softer than what I've found in commercial gyms, but that doesn't affect functionality at all. The metal centers are great for sliding them onto Olympic bars and plate holders.Only thing is, and other reviewers note this, they do have a strong rubber smell. I wiped them off with cleaning solution when I got them as there is a bit of an oily film to them. The rubber smell persisted for months, but it does improve over time and now I only smell it if the weight is fairly close to my nose.
