If you follow the directions on the bag, the taste is amazing.They also have coconut flavor which Depends On what you're making if you have any leftover meat or chicken. We've used stuff That's a little expired & it still turned out great, the preparation is quick. Microwave it an the portion size depending on how much you eat or like a lot of rice. Love this stuff. It has a bit of an "instant" flavor, but fortunately with Basmati rice that is countered with the nutty Basmati flavor. Most of these are hard and I have to mash them before microwaving, but my latest batch feels nice and soft in the bag. Way better than the Jasmine variety of Ben's Ready rice.
