A NICE NERDY GIFT
I got these for myfather-in-law who likes to reminisce about his slide rule. So I got him something Even more archaic. This is in a nice container and the pieces are well made. This made a nice if not nerdy gift.

A working set of Napier's bones - for multiplication
Boxed set of two set of bones for multiplying, with a double-sided black-and white instruction sheet with basic history, multiplying guide and how to order the square and cube root bones not included in this set.Why not 5 stars? The instructions look like they came from a poor copier with black smudges down the sides, but good content, even if grammar possibly a little Chinglish.Napier introduced the world also to logarithms and a practical decimal point. The logarithms probably were calculated with similar bones to this set, but needing the missing square root bone.to complete this famous piece of math history. The bone is easy to order, but IMHO it might have been included to complete an otherwise attractive and fun piece of math history re-creation.

Exactly what I was looking for
The overall quality is good, and the look of the product is quite nice. Very easy to play with, the numbers are super clear. Highly recommended for teachers, enthusiasts of science and for Historians who want a neat, simple and direct example of how people used to multiply numbers in the XVI century.
