Love this amplifier!
I would recommend this amplifier. This is my third ever headphone amp I have owned and this one does exactly what I want. Here are the cons: It is large. Larger than the palm of my hand, No rechargeable battery. You will need a power bank if you take it on a walk with you, It is made of cheap material. Feels like a hollow tin can, No usb cord provided. You can either plug it in to the wall with the provided plug or use a micro usb cord. It will power the unit fine. The pros: It has a rotary power and volume knob! Ok old schoolers...here me on this one....does anyone miss the practicality of the much missed volume knob! I do!! Soooo easy to find in the dark or I'm my case if you are driving. I have this unit hooked up in line with my phone so I can amplify the audio from my phone to my car speakers. Sounds amazing! And I managed to wire it to my fuse panel so it shuts off with the car ignition. Just buy a cigarette lighter adapter and wire that adapter to an ignition source. Very simple. If you buy this amp, it will in fact increase your headphone or car speaker volume. And it sounded good. Just remember it is fragile. But it reminds me of some lost and forgotten 80s audio equipment, but man I gotta tell ya I love it!

A GREAT little audio amplifier!
I was looking for a small stereo signal audio amplifier for our small flatscreen TV in our kitchen. The internal speakers for the TV are in the back so there is not much volume. I tried hooking up some small "Logi" computer speakers to the "earphone" 3.5 jack on my TV, but the volume was still not very good. I found this little amplifier online at Amazon and decided to try it out. I hooked the audio amp into the "earphone" jack with a spare 3.5 cord I bought, then connected the output to the spare speakers and I now have GREAT volume! So far it is working great, so I have ZERO dislikes. I would for sure buy this again.

Plastic but works great.
Purchased this unit to act as an amplifier between my audio interface, Presonus Studio 24c and my over the ears Sure 440 headphones for monitoring while recording and listening back using a .DAW on my PC. It gives the output quite an increase, about 10db over the Presonus Pre-amp. It allows my to crank the headphones while limiting the pre-amp for clearer and increased volume. It's doing what it was described. My only complaint is the plastic body. I read it was aluminum? It is not. O-well. I also used Velcro to secure the unit to my audio interface. It will slip around pretty easily as it is incredibly light.

Works great
Very happy with this. It replaced a battery operated unit that I have connected to a TV by my treadmill. My TV did not have a headphone jack so I used this connected to the audio out RCA connectors. This has plenty of umph. I can now listen to my TV volume high enough to drown out my whining about running on the treadmill. I can't hear ANY of my complaining!

Still alive - let's give it the last star
That's worth four stars. I blew through 5 $20 headphone amplifiers over the past couple weeks, every single one of them, five different types, two optical, three 3.5, all dead, worthless garbage. How does a solid state device crap out anyway?? This thing is $28, does that mean it will only last eight bucks longer, or is it actually worth buying? It does work, at least. I'm not the world's best judge of audio quality, but it sounds okay to me, no hissing or anything. Now, let's see how long it keeps working, and I'll come back and amend the review accordingly.Still working, on 24/7. Clearly this is a product above and beyond all the $20 amps that stopped working within days, I guess the extra eight bucks or whatever was worth it.Update: Well over two years now, on all the time, no problems. I'd say that was worth $20 and change (bit higher now).

Great for ears that don't hear as well as they used to
I can barely hear the tv. Voices are muffled. I can crank up the volume but it's never clear enough. The same goes for listening to music. This amplifier raises the volume enough so I can hear the music like I used to. Probably not a good idea for teens... this could cause hearing loss to young ears... but for these older ears, it works great. I recommend using this with a good quality pair of wired over the ear headphones that blocks outside noise. Works great for me
