I'm not an expert at using the UV light to study gemstones but I am trying to learn an experiment so far it charged up really quick using the c charger connected to my computer and the light is very very bright and it's so it appears to me that it's an actual UV black light and not just a purple shade of light as so many of the budget price flashlights are nowadays.Just the fact that it does have the sticker that warns you about not looking directly at the light or getting it near your eyes because of the radiation is a high cost hint to me that the m manufacturer is actually selling a genuine item and is concerned about your health or at least the threat of not warning you of your health if they are caught without doing so LOL. I noticed immediately if I have it on for more than 30 seconds to look at something without looking directly at the light I still can feel the headache coming on from the brightness of the flashlight most of my minerals that I have found in my amateur search all look the same they either don't have a color change or they look like somebody dumped purple paint on them but there are a few that showed different colors like light pink or weird dark red and so that is evidence in my experience that it is genuinely emitting a UV ray as promised.It's actually a great size and has a really long wrist strap on it which I appreciate cuz you can leave it tied to your wrist and still use it in your hand being able to click it on and off without fumbling.The case is very solid and overall the entire product is actually very good especially for the price I just wish I knew how to use it better lol but it does work if you're just looking for even a black light for parties and holidays it is super super black light but again if you're only using it for decor and fun I would recommend purchasing a different non-uv type of blacklight flashlight so as not to subject all living creatures with this bright radiation intense beamActually the total package it's a great value and I will buy a one or two more immediately if they're at the same price or somewhere around there.

I use this in my clinic as Wood’s lamp for illuminating eye exam. Works as well, if not better (brighter) than Wood’s lamp from medical supply company that charged 3 times as much and took a month to arrive! Keep it up Amazon!

This is a very bright uv light. Definitely finds the yucky spots and mega charges the glow in the dark objects I have ( including the cat’s glow in the dark color, I’m careful of her eyes for sure.) thank goodness it’s rechargeable because it has a seriously short lived battery ( the reason for the loss of one star) but if you don’t need it to have a long life between charges. It’s worth the price and then some.

Love this light. It charged very quickly and. Has a carry strap. I use it to test rubies and it works great. It has a push button to turn on and off. So far I haven't had to recharge it yet. It's small but not to small. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a uv light.

been using this to cure UV resin and it works well. I still put the peices out in the sun but this also works well and fast. Just make sure its fully charged so its at max power

Very affordable at under $10. Also very powerful for curing uv resin. Dark sun Glases should be worn when using this light as it can damage the eyes. You can feel the heat coming from the light. Resin only takes less than a minute to cure thin layers. I recommend. Doesn't take dry long to charge and battery seems to last a while before needing recharge. Very well built, and not lightweight and flimsy.
