SkyTrak+ Launch Monitor and Golf Simulator - Tour-Level Golf Analysis with Dual Doppler Radar, Enhanced Camera, Real-time Gameplay Simulation, Wi-Fi, USB-C Charging

I am a relatively new golfer and I don’t have a lot of simulator experience however I tried a garmin R10 and could not get it to work in my small space in my garage. I don’t have a full sim setup, just a mat and net and now a Skytrak and iPad. This however works like a Charm, makes sure I don’t bake a slice into my swing when I can’t make it out to the course/range. It catches all the swings that matter and the only misses where ones I would have not wanted to remember anyway since topped shots (Tom Brady) do not get recorded. Might be on purpose but not an issue for me. I love the club path data and launch angle to really help me see what I am doing right or wrong. I haven’t figured out how to log my daughter and wife in so our averages dont mix yet but they enjoy it as well. It works best with an ipad but pc worked as well. I don’t have an issue with the slight delay at all. It’s light, would get a case with it since it sits forward of the ball and nasty slice would cause an issue I imagine. I had no issues reading yellow, red or white balls that I have tried. Would like sky team to add angle of attack and and face impact in the future to perfect it.

Edited my review: the device battery life is horrible. It won’t stay charge and I have to keep it on the charger at all times. For the price I paid I’m not happy so I wouldn’t waste your money on this model Impressed with how accurate SkyTrak is with shot results compared to the range. Ball carry distance and shape match quite well. I have really improved since I started using this. Extremely accurate and lets me work on my game during the winter. Also like the metal case that allows me to level the monitor much easier and protect my investment. enjoy getting consistent numbers through SkyTrak to help me evaluate my swing. Set-up was straightforward and in half an hour I had converted my indoor hitting area into a ‘smart’ driving range. A small problem with the charging cord was rectified by Customer service (though I eventually replace the cord with a 15’ cable, as WiFi was inconsistent in my garage). Have yet to try the WGT software since I need an IPad. The Creative Golf 3D simulator was OK but too limited – why offer a free trial to play one hole for 30 days?). Battery life is not great and you do need to have a gaming computer or PC

Continually misses 12% of swings if and when it is working. Frustrating to set up. Tech support Frustrating and no weekend hours. Does not stay connected to internet so can not be used to play games which are fee based and require additional software from additional vendor. No idea why there are any negative reviews on this. It's fantastic - it's brutally honest, but very helpful and fun to use. You do need a good laptop to get the most out of it, something with a dedicated graphics card, otherwise you'll have issues. Got this 'refurbished' and it's excellent.

Shot delay is there but not a big issue but it's apparent from the first use out of the box which colors the first initial impressions. The software is nice eye-candy: very attractive and polished but the raison d'etre of this product has a serious flaw: it is inconsistent and not accurate in the readings. Curiously, the lower spec app for lower-powered iPads is much more accurate than the version 5 app for the higher spec'ed iPads with M2 chips, particularly with poorly struck shots. The newer app seems to add endless roll distances to poorly-struck shots with short carries, so you might get a 150+ yard distance from a shot that initially carried only 40 yards or less. Missed shots also are a nuisance. With the new doppler radar *and* double cameras, you would expect angle of attack information from this product -- this is a serious omission. His product is plasticky so additional protection is required for shank shots, but the protective case seems to have wide openings that will not protect the sensor windows. With the new generation of launch monitors coming out in late 2024, I think this product is seriously out-classed and will have to lower its price considerably to compete.

I bought this because of the relatively low price and its compatibility with Apple products (just bought a new MacBook Pro). The main upside with this device is its ease of use. It connects to the phone, iPad, or computer very quickly and easily. However, I have some major questions about its data. Most of my other simulator equipment had not arrived, so I took this launch monitor to the range. Carry distances seemed to be correct (total distance not so much); far too often, though, there would be some very strange spin and ball flight data (e.g., a pulled shot shown as a fade). It was quite a sunny day, so I figured there may have been some environmental impacts. The next day, I took the device to a covered range with Toptracer and still had the same issue. Left-right offline data was completely wrong. The whole experience really bummed me out. I really wanted accurate data to help improve my game, but using this felt like I was playing a video game. Given how accurate the Toptracer data was, I went ahead and purchased a GC3.

Great for the garage.
