I've never installed a toilet prior to this and had always heard over the years that the process of getting the wax seal installed was a massive pain.I saw this and figured this could make my life easier. I'm glad I had this kit, because I ended up connecting the toilet incorrectly and getting a leak underneath. Because of this kit, I was able to simply lift it, fix the problem, and reset the toilet. Ive had no leaks since.This kits fairly straightforward with the instructions. The mistake i made was from the documentation of the toilet not this kit. These are more expensive than the regular wax rings but it's a bit of insurance.Great kit!

Let me start by saying that I had purchased a new Kohler toilet and installed it using fluid masters better than wax seal. Well, it was NOT better than wax. Had to pull the toilet twice due to leaks and once due to sewer gas smell.On the 3rd time removing the toilet, I replaced the fluid master better than wax seal with this danco perfect seal. Danco is not lying about the name, it made a perfect seal on the first attempt! The combination of wax and rubber in this product sealed the toilet perfectly to the flange.The kit came with everything needed to install on the flange and the instructions were good. Danco has a few YouTube videos showing the process, but suffice it to say it is straight forward and almost impossible to mess up.I will definitely be using the danco perfect seal in the future any time the need arises!

As an engineer there are some things that come naturally. I'm great with electricity, AC, DC, PV, load panels, 240VAC, split-phase, 3-phase (delta or wye), transformers, datacenter UPSs, HVAC systems, etc. BUT PLUMBING NEVER WORKS FOR ME AND IT ALWAYS ENDS UP LEAKING!!!!So in preparation for replacing an old Toto that was a bear to clean (once a week due to poor design) and wouldn't stop leaking no matter what flapper I put in (and even sanded the inside rim) I watched a bunch of YouTube videos. The ones with detail done by professionals recommended this kit. So I got it. (Also "flapper" is the new name for "ballcock.")WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THIS: The directions are so well written if you can read pictures you can do this. You can also watch the videos. They included almost every part or piece I'd ever want EXCEPT no shims. You can get shims for $4 at Amazon, HD, Loew's, ACE, TruValue, etc. If you don't want store-bought shims you can use a rubber door stopper triangle and cut it just right.Everything I needed was there, and the instructions were clear, so I had cut the old caulk, removed the toilet, removed the gunky wax seal and stuff ahead of time. I measured as per the kit and didn't need the "blue part" since the level of the flange was above floor height. Took it off, put it aside, never used it.The alignment rods are perfect. I've watched videos of people trying to align the two bolt holes while moving the 80-100lb toilet. Having the two rods marking where to put the bolts in and positioning the toiler so the blue rods stuck out of the holes in the toilet base was TRIVIAL.Then, I removed the blue rods (just pull them out, no friction, no screwing) and put the bolts in. Hand tighten using the plastic grommets. No crescent wrench no channel-locks no torque wrench (they warn you not to overtighten or the porcelain breaks).Hooked up the water and the bidet seat. No leaks!!! My first plumbing job with no leaks, and it was a toilet r/r -- the toughest job excluding the under-sink garbage disposal.The toilet appeared stable but when I sat on it there was a bit of a wobble. Tightening the bolts is not the right answer if they're already hand tight. More YT video and went and got shims. Put them in, wobble gone, cut just shy of the toilet base rim so caulk would hide it, and that was done.Caulked for completeness but not in the back, cleaned it up with a credit card (better than a wet finger because it shoves the caulk into that rounded slot between the toilet base and the floor) and it was good. It's been three plus weeks and it's all perfect.Was it worth the price to get it done RIGHT, THE FIRST TIME, not worry about alignment, and have no leaks?YES YES YES.Great product. Great price. Job done right first time. DIY heaven.

Never replaced a toilet but it was leaking into the downstairs bathroom ceiling so I gave it a try. I ordered a new toilet and installation kit on line and the danco seal from Amazon. Watched a few you tube videos to get a little familiar with the task at hand.Removed the old toilet and saw the flange was lower than the floor. danco's instruction were to leave a blue rubber extender in the ring. I did so, but there was a little play in the toilet trying to attach it. I decided to remove the blue extender and used the wax seal from the install kit and the danco ring. Toilet is secure to the floor and after a few test flushes there are no leaks in the downstairs ceiling. This is day 1. I am thinking of every reason this might not hold up, including operator error. I figure I will test is for a few more days and watch how it does.

So much more convenient and well worth the extra cost vs normal wax rings . Just watch the installation video and it becomes idiotic proof and allows you to reposition the toilet if you set it wrong the first time unlike normal wax rings . Also allows you to mount your toilet on a flange that’s either above or below floor level without the time and expense of having to redo the flange .
