Finally, a perfect birthday present for the nephew that we can have fun doing together without any screens involved! My nephew turned 5 and I always try to find something educational, no screens involved, and hands on that he would have fun with. He came over to my house and we built his terrarium together. It is so stinking cute and even has dinosaur figurines to add into the terrarium, which he extra appreciates as a fellow Dino lover!With the energy of a 5 year old, we were able to put this together in about an hour considering the time to let the dirt expand in the water. I can’t wait to hear about how his plants grow in his terrarium as the days go by. The seeds are chia and another easy to grow grass similar plant so guaranteed to see the plants grow. Imagine a chia pet concept level of ease! This comes with a light and everything you need, even a little mist bottle to water the plants. Just have to plug it in!He loves to get his hands in the dirt and I love teaching him about plants and hope to inspire him to be a future plant parent when he is older to match his auntie’s vibes. :)

Would absolutely buy again! Bought this for my 4yr old grandson. He absolutely loved putting it together and watching the grass grow around the dinosaurs. He would get so excited when it was time to water the seeds. It gave us lots of opportunities for learning and to discuss our environment!

This is a cute terrarium which my 8 year old grandson asked for, but once assembled he lost interest. I think this would be more interesting for 4-5-6 year olds. We only added some of the grass as we wanted to be able to see the scene he created. The grass grows in a few days and keeps on growing but it is easy to trim. We kept the light on after seeding until the seeds began to sprout. The light is simple to turm on/off and lights up the terrarium brightly and the whole display is attractive. It got knocked off the cabinet onto the floor but nothing broke so it seems durable. I plan to continue using it to sprout flower seeds for transplanting.

Honestly, this was one of many gifts for son's 6th birthday but it is by far the best one! He loved creating the ecosystem with his dad and the grass sprouted up very quickly! He goes to water and check on his dinos every day! This has definitely increased his interest in planting and growing things, and we've gotten a few other things to start seeds with. Great purchase!

This was super cute and super fun to do with my little four-year-old niece. She’s obsessed with bugs and animals and everything else and this just worked for her and it looks super cool in her room.
