SeaguarTatsu Fishing Line for Casting, & Live Bait, 100% Fluorocarbon, Clear, Multiple Sizes

I recently tried Seaguar Tatsu 100% Fluorocarbon Fishing Line, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the reputation it has in the fishing community. Here’s my honest review based on my experience.Performance:The performance of the Seaguar Tatsu line was impressive. It provided excellent sensitivity, allowing me to feel even the slightest bites. This is a great line cast like a dream and very strong

I am (or was) a professional fishing guide and as you probably know, clients want the best. I have tried all kinds of line for our trout angler clients and some worked ok, some were just poor. I decided a couple years ago to try Tatsu. It is SUPER supple, it casts like butter, it is still sensitive enough to detect the smallest strikes, and it is very close to invisible in the water. It is expensive but it does make a difference. I have several rigged rods/reels in the boat at all times and generally keep 2 that are identical. One has a different brand line on it, the other with Tatsu. Over the last couple years of keeping track, the one with Tatsu generally gets more "bites" than the other one, and this is using the same exact lure. Generally casts further with Tatsu. I will say this, over a longer period of time the Tatsu will develop some memory--but using a good line conditioner will help restore it's suppleness. This stuff is SO good that I've actually had people comment on how easy it is to cast, retrieve, and feel the small bite (brown trout often just inhale the lure and you might feel a little "tick" and that's about it).

First the price. This stuff is expensive. I was lucky and found it on sale on Amazon. I wouldn’t put it on every reel. Second the performance. I loved it. It’s absolutely amazing. I started by using it as leader on my spinning rod. Like it so much I picked up another box. This stuff just feels right. I have no other way to explain it. It cast well. Doesn’t seem to curl up. Is tough as nails (I got it caught it in my trolling motor prop and didn’t replace it). I recommend trying it at least once for any finesse application or where you need to feel every peck at your bait. You’ll be surprised.

I found this line to be OK and way overpriced, I am sold on braided lines

Super thin high quality flouro. Excellent for stealthy saltwater fishing rigs!I’ve been purchasing Seagar Blue and Premier Flouro line for many years. It’s simply the best IMO. When I found this Tatsu line, it looked like it had the same line diameter and strength as Seagar Premier at half of the price. Considering how many Pompanonrigs I tie, that’s a good thing.I used it to tie about 25 Pompano rigs using a Snoot (dropper loop rig with one end cut) as my dropper line. I then place a float on the line and snelled my hooks to the end. One the top end of the rig I used a figure 8 loop to attach the rig to my main line. At the bottom of the rig I tied on a snap swivel to attach a pyramid weight.These rigs are quick and easy to tie and they are super stealthy. I caught a bunch of Pompano and for the most part, they performed very well. I say for the most part because several did break in normal conditions. Yet, some rigs were so strong that I was able to drag in some very large drums and stingrays.The question about durability is still open. Some rigs seemed to break way to easily. I must say that this could be because I did a poor job tying the knot or I simply didn’t lubricate it enough when cinching it tight. I had rigs break in weird ways, but I’ve seen this with even the most expensive lines. Catfish with sandpaper teeth could also compromise the line if they swallowed the hook. Again, this is true even with mono.Amazingly, A few Pompano pros asked me how I was getting so many bites when they weren’t. I pointed them to this line. None of them had ever heard of it. Many asked if I would loan them one of my rigs. One went exclusively to this rig type I er a rig that they had tied and used for many years. It works!So, in synopsis, this line is high quality very stealthy, super thin Flouro line. It not only caught me a lot of fish, I was regularly getting higher quality fish than the people I fished with. Is it better or equal to Seagar Premier? I cannot answer that yet and I don’t know that I’ll go through enough effort to determine this.Realize that when you fish with super light line in saltwater, you’ll get way more bites, but you’ll also break a few off. The breaking strength of a dropper loop rig is known to compromise line strength! In the end, you’ll need to decide if losing a few rigs is worth getting more bites.I highly recommend this line. My only wish is that it came in line strength up to 60#.
