No, just insert one SD card into the front camera.

Q: What type of plug goes into the camera. Is it just a mini usb? And is it a left or right bend

The power cable is inserted upright on the GPS mount. The cable that connects to the rear camera is connected on the side of the unit and the cable angles down.

Q: Is there a way to force wifi to always be on, seems to shutoff after power cycle?

No, we do not suggest wifi to always be on, it will cause the camera to overheat.

Q: In parking mode, do the cameras blink a status light which tells that a dash cam in installed in vehicle?

The Rec light will blink while in parking mode, but it’s facing inward and will not alert possible intruders.
