Q: In 2 screen mode what is the aspect ratio? The images provided show each side as full screen? Shouldn't they be letter boxed?

This device does not maintain aspect ratio. It stretches the image if needed to fill the layout. So for side-by-side the images are vertically stretched.

Q: Does it take 4 1080p inputs and outputs a 4k of the combined 4 1080p inputs ?

It outputs a maximum of 1080p whether you are displaying 1 input or 4. The screen says its displaying each at 1080p but my monitor shows that it’s only receiving a combined 1080p signal. I’ll be sending mine back, as having four 960x540 screens looks absolutely horrible and most text cannot be read.

Q: On a 4k @ 60hz tv, if my 4 inputs are 4 mac mini 2012 (hdmi 1.4 1920x1080), will I see the same 1920x1080 resolution for each mac with 4 screen mode?

Yes you will. What ever input you connect will show in that resolution in 4 screen mode.
