The BEST litter if you can't afford Arm N Hammer. It smells great, it clumps very well, AND it's not so fine that it tracks everywhere and ends up in your bed sheets!!! It's low dust too, and I have tried nearly all of the cheaper brands and Fresh Step is superior. I scoop my box at least once if not twice a day and with the other brands, I was constantly needing to sweep my floors and the dust would stick to my shoes and between their toes so I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this brand.

After trying several other litters, I think fresh step is the best for odor control. I'm not sure there is ever going to be a perfect litter, but this comes close. We're a 2-cat house hold so that means twice the smells. It maintains freshness far longer than the others I've tried, including more expensive name brand options. Clumps hold together well during the cleaning and scooping process, and my cats seem to like it.While it's not as dusty as some litters, it still has some dust that is noticeable when pouring fresh litter in the box, but this tends to settle quickly. Also, why does the price of this product fluctuate so much?

Very low dust, low tracking but definitely still makes its way out of the box with every exit. I definitely need litter catching Matt around the box. Good tight clumps and it never gets stuck on her paws. The pieces are just the right size. The smell from whatever is in it that traps odor is very slight and even though “unscented” It completely controls cat box odor. I have just one cat and clean daily. It’s the best I’ve found so far.

Gets the job done without breaking the bank. Since litter is something you need to buy regularly, I'm happy there is an affordable product that works well. The scent is a bonus! Clumping is immediate.

The clumping is effective, making scooping easy, and the odor control is definitely noticeable. For the price (under $12 for 14 lbs!), it's a really good value.However, after experimenting with mixing it with Purina Tidy Cats, I've discovered a truly fantastic combination! While Fresh Step performs well independently, I've found that the blend of the two litters creates an even more powerful synergy for both clumping ability and odor control. The mixed litter seems to clump even firmer and the odor neutralization is just exceptional.So, while Fresh Step Extreme Clumping Litter is a good litter on its own and definitely gets the job done, I've personally found that mixing it with Purina Tidy Cats elevates its performance to another level, especially in a multi-cat household like mine (4 cats!). If you're looking for a cost-effective and reliable litter, Fresh Step is a great option, but consider trying a mix if you want to maximize clumping and odor control. Still a solid 4.5 stars!
