Would this work for removing an hdmi port off a video card with lead free sodler? i've tried like heck to remove it with flux and a solder wick.
Is this lead free?
is this rohs compatible, or is there a rohs equivalent?
What is the melting point of this product? Is it actually 136F as stated in the description? Thanks!

This is what everyone should use to desolder

So as someone that repairs controllers, I have been looking for a simpler solution to remove joystick modules from said controllers and after trying many different things, this is by far one of the easiest ways to Desolder any kind of components from pcb boards that I have found besides a vacuum powered solder gun. Melts at low temp and stays molten for a pretty long while after u take the iron off of it. Amazed this isn’t talked about more in the solder world as it is wonderful and highly recommend

Solder works great, for the most part

I ordered 2 of these Low Melt Solder packages and all I really need is the solder itself, the flux just being a bonus. Unfortunately, it seems like someone at the factory was in a hurry when they were sealing the bottom of the flux tubes because it looks like one of them split open as soon as it was boxed. How it didn't melt all over the inside of the packaging is beyond me (it's 95°F at my house right now). I have my own preferred brand of flux, so it's not a big deal, but it sux knowing that this flux was no doubt included in the price of the item. Not sure how long these have been sitting on a shelf somewhere, but the solder is much more brittle than the last one I ordered. As soon as I tried straightening each piece, they just snapped in half. I may have just gotten a bad batch.

Great for removing QFP ICs

This low-temp alloy was perfect for removing a large LQFP 100-pin STM32 IC from a PCB. The flux and alloy melted very easily and flowed perfectly onto the legs. Once the legs on all 4 sides were saturated in the solder, I used my heat gun at a low setting and the chip came right off! By far the easiest desoldering I've ever done for such a large chip. I will be using this for any future repair jobs as this increases the survivability of the board, pads, and surrounding components by reducing the melting point significantly.

Amazing stuff!

I was desoldering 3 joycon modules off 3 Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers.I started with adding fresh solder to the old solder to get it to melt but it was so stubborn and would not come off! The pinholes would always have a little leftover solder in them and I couldn't get the modules out.Fastchip bonded with the residual solder and left the pinholes CLEAN. I had to reapply a few times but it it was a lot quicker than constantly adding fresh solder. I highly recommend this stuff!Seriously, after the first joystick module I removed , I used fastchip again and it made the process much better. If I ever need to desolder again, i'll be grabbing some more of this stuff.

It can prevent damage from overheating but you need a lot of it.

Buy more you are going to need it. It works great I used it to remove HDMI ports and it prevents damage. It's really a must have for removing temperature sensitive components. You need a lot to prevent damage traces and you will need to remove it after.Note: this is not for soldering it to remove components. Do not leave this on clean it off completely.

It just works.

I had some sockets and components to remove from a non-functional motherboard and this helped so much with it, added a little to each pad, then used hot air to remove the component quickly without overheating anything. The low melt helped with the factory lead-free solder and made this a much easier job.

Excellent for SMD desoldering work

I needed to replace several voltage regulator IC's on three 5 volt power supplies. Even with a desoldering gun I could not make progress. On a suggestion from a fellow tech I tried this. Using just a regular soldering iron they came loose quickly with just a little bit of this solder and effort. Make sure you use a good dose of the accompanying flux. You will need some sort of solder remover, e.g. desolding braid, to clean off the excess solder and some Isopropyl alcohol to remove any remaining flux on the board. This small kit should last for years unless you are someone who does this type of work on a daily or weekly bases.
