Just put a ten pound weight on the scale as a base weight. Then place whatever small item you want to weigh on top. Then just subtract ten from the gross weight.

Q: Will this scale just give you your last weight if the current weight is within 0.5lb of the last reading?

YES. If the next weight measurement is taken within 30 seconds, and is within about 0.55 lbs from the last measurement, the scale simply displays the last measurement from memory. I have tested this and confirmed this to be true.

Q: The place we have to store our scale is about 2 feet from where we need to weigh.Can you slide this out to weigh and slide back without recalibrating?

Hi Kevin W,Our scale has a feature called "auto-on" which allows users to just step on and weigh without first calibrating the scale. If you keep your scale stored away instead of in the same place, that feature won't work correctly. The scale calibrates itself upon turning off, so if it's then moved into a cabinet for example, then the weight of the scale itself may not be properly accounted for contributing to a perceived swing in weight by up to 4-5 pounds. If you have to move it, which is totally fine, just place it where you want it to go and turn it on. Let it settle at 0.0 before stepping on to weigh in.Thanks,Nick

If the next weight measurement is taken within 30 seconds and within about 0.55 lbs from last one, YES it does simply display the last weight measurement from memory. I have tested this and confirmed this to be the case. Frankly it's very annoying too!
