which hoses can you use to connect 20 lb. tank?

The F273704 can be used alone.  Many other hoses from mr heater (like F273701, F273702, F273703) and others can work that go to the "disposable tank" connection, but you'll need to add the "filter" with those others (item F273699).  The reason for the filter is to catch oils that get "squeezed" out of most rubbers in hoses where the oils mess up the heater, but the 704 hose is made "oil-free" to not need it.  Those are the choices for this model.

When I put the heater setting on low, it sputters and makes a lot of noise, is this normal, but works fine on high. Thanks

I was running the Buddy unit recently and intentionally ran it draining a BBQ tank 100%.  For the last 5 minutes of running it was "Sputtering" which was obviously from the tank low on gas and running out.  So maybe the valve isn't allowing enough gas thru on the "Low" if you have plenty of gas.  On the Buddy you need to push in the knob when turning it, but then it extends out in the "Low" or "High" positions, if this units knob is like that I wonder if you don't have it in the right place for it to extend out?  Otherwise if this unit's knob is like the "Big Buddy" that only twists (no pushing it down), then maybe as you twist it try to feel for a place where it "Snaps" into a place that it's intended to go to.  Some think you can manually twist it anywhere between "Low" and "High" to give you more choices of settings, but it may not be intended for such.
If there's no solution from any of those, then maybe there is a partial "clog" in the gas line. Have you run it off bigger tanks without the "filter" (or using the F273704 hose)?  If so, then you may have fed in oils from the typical hoses that are now creating the problems that the filter could have stopped (but it now needs repairs or replacement).  Hope not, but it is possible.  I saw one Q&A where a guy talked of issues on a unit with under 20 hours use and he used a new hose and BBQ tank (thinking all new parts would have less problems in the long run), yet the "Fresh" new hose may have had more oils and the filled tank has more pressure to send such oils into the new unit and mess it up that fast.  That's what I can imagine.

Question 3

Can i use it in a car while i sleep in there overnight?

No, I would not recommend this. It can be used in a deer blind or a camp where there is an open area and air flow AND you are awake. I would think it would be extremely dangerous to use it in a car, while sleeping.

Would this be good for on a house during a power outage?

Yes it would be, but I would get the standard buddy or the big buddy depending on how much heat you want. I think they charge more for camo model.

From what I understand its safe to use indoors as it has tipover protection as well as a Carbon monoxide sensor. You only get about 3 hours or so to a can on high, so you may want to get the attachment hose that connect to a 20lb propane tank. Make sure you order the house from mr heater, or you will mess up the unit. Also you can’t have the 20lb tank in the house, with the heater, so you may have figure out a way to keep the tank outside and the heater inside. Otherwise plan to spend a good chunk of change on the little cans.
