Q: Will it work with low profile / flat ethernet cable?

It did for me using 20 m of cable without problem.

Q: Does it support 50hz tvs aswell? For playing games at 50fps

It should be able to but there may be a video lag when playing games

Q: I am having to return a similar product to this because i was getting banding issues on 4k hdr sources, does this extender suffer the same issue?

I've not had any problems with this extender. It works very well with my 4k source, a virgin 360 box.
