These do not come on a spindle, I'm glad I kept my old empty spindles! I've used Imation for many years and they've always been good quality. No matter what brand of blank discs I use, I always slow the burn speed down to ensure a good burn. Blank DVD discs are the best medium I've found to back up pictures, data, purchased programs, documents and Windows backups using the data disc option.

Unlike DVD-R (including Imation) that I've bought over the last many years, this did not include the "cakebox" with a base, spindle, cap to keep the discs clean but instead was just a stack of 50 in plastic wrapper. That's not only a downside for storage, but also keeping clean--I threw away two blank discs at one end as they were covered with chaff that didn't easily come off with a microfibre cloth. All that said, the first disc that I burned seems perfectly fine.

I don't understand the negative reviews stating that some of these do not work. My suggestion is to check your burning speed and drop it back to 6X (speed) . I have had other discs fail to burn and it was not the fault of the DVD blank, but a too fast burning speed setup on your computer. I had to learn this by trial and error and it works well for me. Now I no longer get error messages about disc failure and to insert another blank disc.Once your computer starts to burn a movie to the blank it writes a lead-in to format the disc and when the disk error pops up, it is too late to salvage the disc.Lower the burning speed and I think you will no longer see these errors pop up.
