Q: Can i use the doorbell with wired plug?

If you meant one end to the camera and the other end to the outlet then the answer is yes, but I’d like to take the advantage of wireless. A full charge of battery will last about 2 weeks. We were in Japan for 15 days, the battery still worked when we came home.

Q: motion detection on or intercom on - camera captures guest leaving not while approaching door. what else to do?

I don't really know what to do. I am having the same kinds of problems. Sometimes it's detecting movement and sometimes not. I can see my neighbor leaving sometimes but not coming back, or the other way around. Just sometimes randomly does not work. It's very frustrating.
